The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
The concert hall at the Syndey Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 25,000 times in 2011. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 9 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.
What is Christmas?
Redeeming the Season
15 Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Have any of you ever heard something like, ‘All of that Christmas stuff is just a bunch of pagan superstition and commercial hype. Stop ramming it down our throats!’ Every year we hear of Atheist groups protesting things such as a Nativity Scene outside of a courthouse. I remember in West Chester a few years back, a Philadelphia-based Atheist group retaliated by erecting a Christmas Tree, and then hanging a plethora of Atheism, Anti-God, and Evolution books on the tree, entitling it the “Reason Tree.” Many people nowadays refer to saying “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas” in order to maintain Political Correctness. Even our own “Christian” President didn’t make any mention of Christmas or Christ this year when he sent out his annual Christmas card. And on the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree, there are no ornaments with mention of or even the words Jesus, Christmas, or a Nativity Scene, and yet there is an ornament hung that reads, “I love President Obama.”
Christmas is becoming so commercialized in America, that we forget the true meaning of Christmas. We’re so afraid that we might offend someone else, and we listen to the arguments that others pose to us, that Christmas is actually just another Pagan holiday. So what gives? How do we respond to those accusations? I mean, it does seem a little funny, right? Santa Claus, Candy Canes, Christmas Trees…what do any of those have to do with Jesus or Christianity? How on earth did a heavyweight, jolly, old man become associated with Christmas? I mean, if Christ is the Reason for the Season, then what gives? What about hanging stockings? How did Christmas Trees come about? What’s Biblical about those? Was Jesus actually born on December 25th? What about gift-giving? What about hanging stockings and filling them with gifts? Should Christians actually recognize any of these traditions? What do any of these ‘traditions’ actually have to do with the birth of Christ and Christianity? How do we redeem the season and bring back the true meaning of Christmas? In this article, I’ll attempt to tackle these questions, and show the true reason for the season.

I know everyone is talking about Tim Tebow a lot lately, myself included, but I just came across this video and had to show it. Ever wonder what Tebow is actually saying on the field in the middle of the game? Watch this video! It’s amazing!
I’m trying to help out a friend. This is a contest for a large grant! The program rescues girls in the U.S. out of human trafficking. (My friend is actually going to Las Vegas in May to work with this program called F.R.E.E. International) Please take 5 seconds to vote for this charity which will help the thousands of young American girls who are still sold into slavery each year. And spread the word! Thanks and God bless!

“I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it anymore!” Yeah, that’s great. But what do you want? What are your goals? What are your demands? What result are you looking for?
The beauty of being vague is that anyone who has any emotion can get caught up in the excitement and join your crusade. They’ll just get mad at something and assume that you’re both mad about the same thing. Put a few hundred of these people together, and boom. You’ve got a crowd, a headline and a lot of attention … but no message.
A lot of people on Twitter are saying I totally agree with the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) demands and goals. The only problem is that I have no idea what their demands and goals are. And neither does anyone else. If all you ever do is stomp [Read more…]
God is not concerned what kind of car you drove,
He’s concerned with how many people you drove who didn’t have transportation.
God is not concerned about the square footage of your house,
He’s interested in how many people you welcomed into your home.
God is not concerned about the clothes you had in your closet,
He’s concerned with how many you helped to clothe.
God is not concerned about how big your salary is,
He’s concerned about whether you compromised your character to obtain it.
God is not concerned about what your job title is,
He’s concerned about whether you performed your job to the best of your ability.
God is not concerned about how many friends you had,
He’s concerned about how many people to whom you were a friend.
God is not concerned about what neighborhood you lived,
He’s concerned about how you treat your neighbors.
God is not concerned about the color of your skin,
He cares about the content of your character.
The Social Costs of Pornography
By Sean McDowell
Pornography is tearing apart the fabric of our society. You may think this is an overstatement. After reading,“The Social Costs of Pornography” by the Witherspoon Institute, I think it may be an understatement.
In 2008, the Witherspoon Institute sponsored the first multidisciplinary exploration of the social costs of pornography. Scholars from various fields including philosophy, psychology, and medicine were included in the forum. Every major shade of religious belief was represented, including Christianity, Judaism, Islam, agnosticism, and atheism. And both the left and right in American politics were present. They all agreed that there is a substantial multidimensional, empirical record of the harms pornography brings to society. Obviously, such agreement is rare.
Today’s pornography is different from any in the past in three [Read more…]
