Does the Bible say that all men are created equal?

I just received a comment on one of my recent posts, Explaining Indiana’s Religious Freedom Law, where the commenter disagrees with my statement that the Bible makes the claim that all men are created equal. Here is his comment:

My question is this, can you show me where in YOUR bible where it say’s that all men are created equal?I poured through my Strongs concordance and it is no where to be found. As a journalist check out references before writing them.
“all men are created equal” is a statement made by the author of our constitution…. just sayin’.

My response:

Well I simply strongly disagree with your assessment. I was referencing race in my last post when I made that statement. Check out Galatians 3:28:

“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

Now, does it say the exact phrase, “all men are created equal?” No. But specifically referencing different races, it is very clearly implied when Paul states that there is “neither Jew nor Greek.” He is stating that we are all the same, no matter where we come from or what genealogy we have; we are all one under Christ. We all equally live in sin, and we all equally have the ability to receive redemption. Many of our Founding Fathers understood this as well, which is why they included it in our Declaration of Independence, where the argument was eventually successfully made to abolish slavery, all based off of this inherent belief.
