Since the hashtag and social-justice-rallying-cry #BlackLivesMatter has been going viral this past week, I thought it would be time for a reality check.
How can we be so naive to now proclaim that black lives matter all of a sudden, (frequently in reference to racial police brutality), while ignoring the actual legitimate scourges of the black community?
Newsflash: Suddenly tweeting and hash-tagging that black lives matter, isn’t going to magically make them matter any more than they do now. You know why? Because without an actual plan of action, and knowing what to target to enact real change, your tweets won’t make a difference; not a meaningful one anyways.
Black Lives Don’t Matter. How could they? Our society has made sure that they don’t, but the real culprit isn’t who most people think it is.
If you want to enact real change, you need to find the actual culprit, and it’s not the police. Now, are there actual instances of racial police brutality? Of course; but they are in the vast minority compared to the real culprits, and the incident involving Officer Darren Wilson and Michael Brown was not one of them. The real scourge? Black people themselves. Here are the real scourges of the black community, as well as what you can do to enact actual change and prove that you really do believe that black lives actually matter:
1. BLACK PEOPLE KILL EACH OTHER
Did you know that black people are killing each other at a higher rate than all other causes of black deaths combined? And I’m not talking about violent crimes and murders that blacks commit against other blacks. I’ll get to that later.
What I’m talking about is the more than 1/3 of the black community that has simply been exterminated. The killers? Black citizens themselves. The method? Abortion. The following chart gives a small illustration:
Now, this chart compiled from Center for Disease Control data is quite out of date now. For example, since the chart’s original publishing, the amount of black abortions has risen to more than 17 million. And if you want to compare just the statistics between blacks that die at the hands of cops vs. blacks that die at the hands of their parents, there are still 700 times more deaths by abortion than by cops.
And how about we talk about the fact that if you live in New York City, more blacks are killed ever year than born? You literally have a greater statistical chance of being killed by your mother than you do of having ever been born. We’re getting to the point in many cities now where more blacks are killed than born, and if the trend continues, black people will eventually wipe out their own race. Black people are choosing to ethnically cleanse themselves, and yet police are the problem?
The above picture describes my current generation as a whole, but for specifically the black community, the number increase to more than a third. And the ironic part? Black people are playing right into the hands of people they idolize, whose plan it has been to ethnically cleanse them from the beginning. The founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, began her “Negro Project” decades ago. She was advised by eugenicist Dr. Clarence Gamble. She wrote to Gamble,
“We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We do not want the word to get out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten that idea out if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.”
Gamble concurred, writing back to Sanger saying, “Hence let’s appear to let the colored run it…”
You see, the plan was to convince black people that abortion was actually good for them. It was for the good of their race. But Sanger and Planned Parenthood couldn’t let on that the original goal was to wipe out the black population; people they considered sub-human, and lesser than whites. They had to be so deceitful to make black people think that it was their own idea, and the way to achieve this goal? Infiltrate black ministers. There are a lot of black people that go to church, so we have to trick the black population by getting someone they trust on board. Someone with a “religious appeal.” If we get someone with the word “Reverend” in front of their name…someone like Reverend Al Sharpton, or Reverend Jesse Jackson to say that abortion is okay, mission accomplished. It was and remains the ultimate con.
Abortion doctors at Klanned Parenthood kill more blacks every week than the KKK has in the entire past century.
And if you think somehow the above quote was taken out of context, here are a few more gems for you from Miss Sanger:
“Colored people are like human weeds and are to be exterminated…We must clear the way for a better world; we must cultivate our garden.”
(Birth Control: Facts and Responsibilities [The Williams & Wilkins company, 1925] pp. 48.)
But hold up, this argument really isn’t fair. After all, abortion isn’t murder, right? Abortion clinics across the country insist that the child isn’t actually a child. But you see, this lie that a baby isn’t a baby only started a few decades ago. We started coining the term fetus to make ourselves feel better. No one would want to kill a baby, would they? So we’ll call it something else! Problem solved. Even Planned Parenthood themselves in a 1952 brochure, stated clearly that an abortion is a medical procedure that “KILLS the life of a BABY.” Interestingly enough, they also correctly stated back then that it is dangerous to a woman’s life and health, and may make you sterile. I wonder why they don’t throw those facts around as much anymore today? Oh right, because it’s a business, and it’s all about making a profit. They don’t actually care about you and your well-being, they just want your money.
It’s really a lie of convenience. People started to get the idea in their head that it was wrong to end the life (murder) of babies, so we changed the name. It’s as simple as that. And the deceit has worked on millions of women.
“The most dangerous place for an African American to be is in the womb of their African American mother.” – Rev. Clenard H. Childress Jr.
So you want to prove that black lives really do matter? Stand up for life.
2. GANG VIOLENCE AND BLACK ON BLACK CRIME
Did you know that there were more than 119 black murders in the Chicago area and hundreds more wounded by gunshot since the Ferguson incident on August 9 until the Darren Wilson Grand Jury announcement last week? The crimes were primarily black on black. A person, usually black, is statistically shot approximately every 3 minutes and 18 seconds in Chicago alone. 2,345 people have been shot so far in Chicago just this year. Where’s the outrage for all of them?
Maybe it’s time that we look at the larger picture in true perspective. Is police brutality really the black community’s biggest problem? What about the government report that showed that 93% of black violent crimes and murders are caused by other black people? Similarly, a majority of white violent crimes and murders are inflicted by other white people.
Black lives do matter, but is Michael Brown, the proven bully who tried to kill a cop, really the cross you want to die on? What would you expect a cop to do in that situation? If you try to grab a cop’s gun to kill said cop, you will get shot. It’s really quite simple.
Again, I’m not saying that there aren’t actual instances of racial police brutality, but if you really care about black lives, you should target where the real problem lies. A good place to start would be with gang violence and gun control laws. Gun control laws are the more practical starting point, as their effectiveness, or lack thereof, is already measurable. Chicago and the state of Illinois had some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation, because guns are bad because guns kill people. Right? Well actually, people kill people. If guns kill people, spoons also make you fat.
The problem with gun control laws, while they may have originally been well-intentioned, is that a criminal doesn’t listen to the law to begin with. If you write a decree telling someone not to kill someone, or place a “GUN FREE ZONE” sign outside of your schools in order to make it a giant target, the problem is that the criminal already doesn’t care. That’s why he’s a criminal. If he wants to kill someone, he’ll find a way to do it. Taking guns away from the good guys only leaves guns with the bad guys, and leaves the good guys defenseless. But I’m just spouting hypotheticals, right? There’s no evidence to back me up, right? Let’s check out a very recent tangible example, when Illinois finally became the last state in the country to allow concealed carry permits:
Since Illinois started granting concealed carry permits this year, the number of robberies that have led to arrests in Chicago has declined 20 percent from last year, according to police department statistics. Reports of burglary and motor vehicle theft are down 20 percent and 26 percent, respectively. In the first quarter, the city’s homicide rate was at a 56-year low.
“It isn’t any coincidence crime rates started to go down when concealed carry was permitted. Just the idea that the criminals don’t know who’s armed and who isn’t has a deterrence effect,” said Richard Pearson, executive director of the Illinois State Rifle Association. “The police department hasn’t changed a single tactic — they haven’t announced a shift in policy or of course — and yet you have these incredible numbers.”
So you want to prove that black lives really do matter? Allow honest and good black people to legally defend their families’ lives.
But how do we solve the root of the problem as a whole? I’ll tell you in my last point:
3. NO FAULT DIVORCE LAWS, WELFARE ABUSE, AND FATHERLESS HOMES
Literally all of the problems America faces as a nation, and especially within the black community, from national debt, the disproportionate amount of minorities on welfare, poor education, to crime and the rate of black incarceration, can be traced back to one single catalyst: The breakdown of the family unit.
There are many contributing factors that lead to this societal downfall, but one of the earliest was our allowance of No-Fault Divorce laws some decades ago. You see, back in the day, you couldn’t just get divorced because you got tired of living with your spouse.
Requirements for divorce prior to the enactment of no-fault divorce
Prior to the no-fault divorce revolution, a divorce was processed through the adversarial system as a civil action, meaning that a divorce could be obtained only through a showing of fault of one (and only one) of the parties in a marriage. This was something more than not loving one another; it meant that one spouse had to plead that the other had committed adultery, abandonment, felony, or other similarly culpable acts.
Previously, you actually had to prove violence, domestic abuse, or adultery in court in order to separate from your spouse. No Fault Divorce laws changed all of that. It was one of the catalysts that contributed to our self-centered and me-focused society. Who cares what’s best for the children? Who cares what’s best for society? I want to get what I want, and my needs are more important than yours. We’ve become so self-focused that it’s always about ME. It’s a dangerous attitude, and one that has proven quite detrimental to our nation.
One thing we can do is to start emphasizing the importance of marriage and of families staying together. Another is to finally do something about welfare abuse. Are there people on welfare who actually need it? Yes, very many. But there are also very many who feed off of society and keep on having children for the sole purpose of receiving more government assistance. The children are almost always left without a stable home life and consistent father-figure, which leads to pretty much every problem our society faces. More on that later. Here are a few examples:
“I’m comfortable with it and I feel like I don’t need to look for one [a job] because I get a check from the government every month.”
Talk about an entitlement attitude. But unfortunately, this attitude rings true for so much of not just Black America, but America as a whole. When government makes it easier and more convenient for you to just get everything for free your entire life, why would you choose to find a job and become a productive citizen? There are far too many Americans that hold the above attitude. And notice the absence of the children’s father.
Here’s another example. 37-year-old Angel Adams has 15 children, from several different men. She was not married, at least at the time of this video. Here’s what she has to say:
“Somebody needs to pay for all my children, and mine and Garret, all our suffering… somebody needs to be held accountable, and they need to pay.”
She was already getting her rent and utilities covered by other concerned citizens and social organizations, but it still wasn’t enough. Yes Miss Adams, someone does need to be held accountable for all of your children and pay for them, and that person is you.
So you want to prove that black lives really do matter? Instill the values of personal responsibility.
Make sure that parents will actually care for their children, vs. them simply having more and more children while expecting you to care for them and foot the bill instead. Children learn from the environments they grow up in. If they grow up watching you get everything handed to you for free, they are likely to do the same in their own adult lives, and continue the trend of black poverty and dependence. Notice again, no father-figure in the picture.
But how does the breakdown of the family unit really impact our society in reality? I’ll tell you:
First, children from fatherless homes are:
- Seven times more likely to live in poverty
- Six times more likely to commit suicide
- More than twice as likely to commit crime
- More than twice as likely to become pregnant out of wedlock
- Worse off academically and socially
- Worse off physically and emotionally when they reach adulthood
Second, children from fatherless homes account for:
- 60% of America’s rapists
- 63% of America’s youth suicides
- 70% of America’s long-term prison inmates
- 70% of America’s reform school attendees
- 71% of America’s teenage pregnancies
- 71% of America’s high school dropouts
- 72% of America’s adolescent murderers
- 85% of America’s youth prisoners
- 85% of America’s youth with behavioral disorders
- 90% of America’s runaways and homeless children
For the black community specifically, 73% of black births, those that survive past abortion anyway, are born out-of-wedlock. For 73% of black Americans, they are already at the greatest disadvantage by not being part of a stable family unit with a dependable father-figure.
Now, don’t get me wrong here. I’m not saying that if you grew up in a divorced household, or without a father, that you are among the statistics above, or that you are somehow any ‘less’ than someone who grew up with a mother and father. But you are among the exceptions. The above are statistical facts.
Is it a mere coincidence that Michael Brown did not have a stable family life either? And that his mother was arrested after his death, and his step-father is on video inciting the violence and arson that afterward took place in Ferguson, repeatedly shouting:
“BURN THIS B*TCH DOWN!” and “BURN THIS MOTHERF***ER DOWN!”
*Language Advisory* Don’t watch the following video if you don’t want to hear the uncensored video.
Our sons are not always solely to blame for their actions. Our sons learn how to behave and how to act based on the environment they grow up in, and in many cases is directly influenced by their father-figures, or lack thereof. And unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that Michael Brown had a very good father-figure to which he could look up to, and learn from on how to act civilly and appropriately in public. If he did, perhaps he would have known better than to use illegal drugs, rob a store to continue using those illegal drugs, and then assault and try to kill a police officer, resulting in his death. Many fathers who abandon their families were themselves abandoned by their fathers, and the abandoned children also have a statistical likelihood of abandoning their future families as well. It’s the same when it comes to sexual abuse. Study after study has shown that most of America’s child rapists were themselves victims of sexual abuse when they were children as well. It’s a horrible, continuous cycle.
So you want to prove that black lives really do matter? Fight for family and stress the incredible importance of fatherhood.
When we look at the other side statistically for children who did grow up in a two parent household:
Children from natural marriage homes are:
- Seven times less likely to live in poverty
- Six times less likely to commit suicide
- Less than half as likely to commit crime
- Less than half as likely to become pregnant out of wedlock
- Develop better academically and socially
- Healthier physically and emotionally when they reach adulthood
When a nation has strong families, the nation itself is stronger.
Marriage and family used to mean something to Americans. It used to be something worth fighting for. The purpose of government is supposed to be to benefit the general welfare of the people. That’s why No Fault Divorce was illegal for so many years in America. Our government had a vested interest in making sure families stayed together. A strong family unit leads to a better eduction, better jobs, less unemployment, less crime, less dependence on government and tax payers, and more people who are paying into the system rather than simply feeding off of it. Unfortunately, we have since lost our way.
So to conclude, black lives DO matter. In fact, ALL lives matter. But we’re doing a darn good job at proving that we don’t really believe it to be true. If we did, we would be rallying against the real societal problems. Cops aren’t the real problem. They’re a minuscule percentage of the problem. Stop tweeting that #BlackLivesMatter if you don’t really believe it, and if you aren’t prepared to actually do something about it. And if you do really believe it, then prove it.
- FIGHT FOR BLACK LIFE
- ALLOW BLACKS TO DEFEND THEIR LIVES
- FIGHT FOR BLACK FAMILIES AND THE IMPORTANCE OF BLACK FATHERHOOD
And hey, don’t just do these things for black life. Do them for all life, because #AllLivesMatter. If you do these things, then you will start to see real societal change take place, but it all starts with the individual. While other issues still remain, cops are not the main problem. White privilege is not the main problem. Society is not the main problem.
WE are the main problem. But we are also the solution.
Change doesn’t happen on a national scale overnight. Real change takes time and it begins at the family level.
It begins with you.
