I was not able to watch the debate. Here at my job at Camp of the Woods in NY, we have no television. But I did read about it online. As for topics discussed, I am against Obamacare and do want it repealed, or at the very least altered. The individual mandate is unconstitutional and now even Democrat judges in the second appeals court have smacked the law down as unconstitutional. We need to get spending under control. Our debt is off the charts, and it is unsustainable. The whole debt ceiling compromise debacle doesn’t do anything. Yeah, they say it cuts 2 trillion over the next 10 years. But what they don’t tell you is that it cuts that 2 trillion, from the 10,000,000,000,000 it first adds to our debt. It does nothing. As for foreign policy, Iran IS a serious threat, as is militant Islam, and Ron Paul is too blind to realize that. He has no understanding of the Radical Islamist perspective and that they see it as their god-given mission to wipe out America and Israel, and they won’t stop at anything. Anyone who fails to realize such an apparent threat, especially when the leadership of those individuals openly announce their intentions about wiping us out, I will not support.
As for my rank of candidates at this present moment, I’ll give my preferences:
Tim Pawlenty no longer counts, since he just dropped out of the race. I don’t know anything about this McCotter guy. But what I do know is that Huntsman and Gingrich don’t stand a chance, and it is a very longshot for Santorum. I do like Rick Perry, and I think it will be interesting to see what happens in the future with him now in the race!
